My charger (24 v) died also and repair shop wanted too many $ for repair. I happened on-to a charger for a printer (24v 1 amp) at the thrift store for $3.00 and fashioned a connector for connecting to the battery. It takes about 3 hrs to charge the battery but you must disconnect manually. It has been working for many months. It will do for me untill i find a bargan on ebay. The repair shop said that the part that failed was not a component that can be changed. (Multyfunction chip) Hope this helps for the short term.
